I was born and raised in a Christian home in Ravensmead just outside of the Mother city of Cape Town. Being the youngest member of a close-knit family of seven. My inspiration and spiritual guidance came from my parents. They taught me to appreciate and nurture the God given talent bestowed upon me.

It is also my way of paying homage to Almighty God from whom all things come. I've spent many years travelling around the Globe using my music as a tool to Minister the Gospel to the world as it has been my desire to sing and uplift the Name of the Lord.

I would like to thank everyone who made this possible ( a list too long to mention) and give special thanks to Lorna (my wife) , Crystal (my daughter) , Nick Du Toit (producer, engineer and musician), Teejay, Nick & Verushka (backing vocalist at ALSAUT Studios (recording, mixing and mastering) and the good Lord for his strength and guidance.

Remembering Jim

The people of South Africa and million of fans elsewhere in the world have fond memories of the fine music Jim Reeves produced during his short life. The unique voice had also a huge impact on the life of Benny Koen and it appealed to many South Africans.

The style of Jim Reeves and his mellow voice is still very popular, and remains so even with the younger generation today. Benny likes the Jim Reeves style, because Jim sang a song with feeling and it came with sincerity and warmth and he had the ability to touch the hearts of those who listened.

Jim sadly died in 1964 when their single-engine plane ran into difficulties during a storm and crashed into dense woods outside Nashville. He had the world at his feet and became also very popular by recording several songs in the Afrikaans language.
